A TRIBUTE TO MINNESOTA, by LETITIA A. WILCOX First Line: Really I ought to write a line Last Line: Of orange, purple, red and blue. Subject(s): Minnesota | ||||||||
Really I ought to write a line About this Minnesota clime; The breeze from off the lake and pine, Is truly wonderful and fine. There's something soothing in the air, You soon forget you had a care. The fish are really good to eat And berries are a splendid treat. For pleasure, take a boat and row, No difference which way, so you go And watch the waves go gliding by And hear the loon give out his cry -- The sunset is a wondrous sight, Reflecting on the water bright; Only dreams can vision gorgeous hues Of orange, purple, red and blue. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...PRIMORDIA IN THE NORTHWEST by WALLACE STEVENS DRIVING TOWARD THE LAC QUI PARLE RIVER by ROBERT BLY DRIVING THROUGH MINNESOTA DURING THE HANOI BOMBINGS by ROBERT BLY A LEGEND OF MINNESOTA by LILLIAN ATCHERSON NORTHERN MINNESOTA by MONTA W.
