HEART, heart, What of thy joy, So soft, so secret, so without cloy, It lies forgotten Unless thou cry, Loud, unceasing, 'How joyous am I!' Heart, look round, And see, see, see, What chances to all and O to thee! As yon twain go In love's delight, 'Tis love, 'tis love, sets thy days right. See with what joy They meet, they part, And watch, O watch, neglectful heart, The farthest turn Of utter peace Which is tidal ebb of joy's increase. Think, O heart, All thou canst see Of them is a witness again to thee; Thou hast their cause, Thou hast their end, Thou hast the sure passion of thy friend. Gaze no more, Think all of thee Is apt as they to felicity; Delight does them And thee employ: Heart, how full is thy heart of joy! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE STUDY OF HAPPINESS by KENNETH KOCH SO MUCH HAPPINESS by NAOMI SHIHAB NYE CROWD CONDITIONS by JOHN ASHBERY I WILL NOT BE CLAIMED by MARVIN BELL THE BOOK OF THE DEAD MAN (#21): 1.
