IN SPRING, by J. A. WILLIAMS First Line: Oh, the joy to ride o'er the hills with spring Last Line: Nor the trials of life forgetting. Subject(s): Hearts; Spring | ||||||||
Oh, the joy to ride o'er the hills with Spring To ride o'er the hills with Spring! Mid the perfumed breeze with her witcheries And the glories which they bring. Forgotten strife mid the vernal life Of the flowers glad returning, Whilst passion thrills o'er the verdant hills And hearts are filled with yearning. Oh, the joy to ride o'er the hills with Spring To ride o'er the hills with Spring! To sport soul free in her reverie And hear all creation sing. Oh, the joy to ride in the gay springtide, The world and its care forgetting Whilst the full heart sings of eternal springs Nor the trials of life forgetting. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...SPRING LEMONADE by TONY HOAGLAND A SPRING SONG by LYMAN WHITNEY ALLEN SPRING'S RETURN by GEORGE LAWRENCE ANDREWS ODE TO SPRING by ANNA LETITIA BARBAULD ODE TO SPRING by ANNA LETITIA BARBAULD SPRING FLOODS by MAURICE BARING SPRING IN WINTER by CHARLOTTE FISKE BATES SPRING ON THE PRAIRIE by HERBERT BATES THE FARMER'S BOY: SPRING by ROBERT BLOOMFIELD |
