SPACIOUS MAGNITUDE, by REX G. WILSON Last Line: The one whose name is love? Subject(s): Blessings; Faith; Belief; Creed | ||||||||
"Lift up your eyes to heaven above! Who hath created these things?" They are the handiwork of God, Not of mortal beings. Alas! How weak is sinful man; How few his tragic days! Could man have made the glowing sun, Or planned the Milky Way? Just pause a moment here with me, And view the graphic sky; In that celestial dome we see Why stars shall never die. Ah! Glittering rows of sparkling gems, God's work of ancient days; The magnitude of telescopes Are but outskirts of His ways. Compare just one lone Asteroid With helpless fallen man, 'Tis only God can lionize The heavens with a span. Do not these little orbs of light Speak wisdom from above, And call upon us to adore The One whose name is Love? | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...UNHOLY SONNET 4 by MARK JARMAN QUIA ABSURDUM by ROBINSON JEFFERS GOING TO THE HORSE FLATS by ROBINSON JEFFERS SONNET TO FORTUNE by LUCY AIKEN JONATHAN EDWARDS IN WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS by ROBERT LOWELL |
