FIRE TO FIRE, by HELEN ANDERSON WINSLOW First Line: A van gogh stroke is your fire of hair Last Line: On the world's high noon. Subject(s): Van Gogh, Vincent (1853-1890) | |||
A Van Gogh stroke is your fire of hair, your face the field where lie two seeds deep as the sunflower eyes at noon in blue furrows of air. If I am dumb, if I am thin as weeds, root me up and then I'll die where deathless flame still breathes. And out of the ash of my dumb land you'll see me burst again with surge of light to match your own, stroke fire with fire on the world's high noon. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...ATELIER CEZANNE by CLARENCE MAJOR VAN GOGH'S DEATH by CLARENCE MAJOR A MINOR VAN GOGH (HE SPEAKS) by ALICIA SUSKIN OSTRIKER VINCENT VAN GOGH by WILLIAM JAY SMITH THE STARRY NIGHT by ANNE SEXTON FAREWELL TO VAN GOGH by CHARLES TOMLINSON VINCENT VAN GOGH by HARRIET R.
