Oh, say can you hear On the Watergate tapes That I gave to the Judge How I lied like a trooper? When the chips are all down I guess no one escapes; I've a date at high noon, And I'm no Gary Cooper. If they're going to impeach There's no gun I can reach, So I may as well quit With a heart-rending speech. Oh, say does that flag That I've dirtied still wave? If I play my cards right, There's some loot I can save. Oh, this is the crunch, I may have to resign, But those bums are dead wrong If they think I'm defeated. When they pension me off At the end of the line And my taxes are paid, They can (passage deleted). I'm not out of the woods, But I've still got the goods, Though I may go to jail With the rest of the hoods.
