THE LINDENS, by GEORGE EDWARD WOODBERRY Poet's Biography First Line: Bees in the lindens booming Last Line: In three days told. Subject(s): Bees; Insects; Nature; Beekeeping; Bugs | ||||||||
BEES in the lindens booming In the green core, out of sight, In the lindens, yellow-blooming, Embosomed close as night; And nought is there to see Save the mellow emerald's bright Deep-foliaged lucidity Of music, bloom, and light. Bees in the lindens humming Melody three days old, 'Midsummer coming, coming, Autumn, and winter, the cold!' The green core ringing is, Rings the tiny blossomed gold, The lindens ring with bliss In three days told. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE EXHAUSTED BUG; FOR MY FATHER by ROBERT BLY PLASTIC BEATITUDE by LAURE-ANNE BOSSELAAR BEETLE LIGHT; FOR DANIEL HILLEN by MADELINE DEFREES CLEMATIS MONTANA by MADELINE DEFREES THOMAS MERTON AND THE WINTER MARSH by NORMAN DUBIE AT GIBRALTAR by GEORGE EDWARD WOODBERRY |
