Last Line: Eyes cannot see
Subject(s): Mysticism - Judaism;simeon Bar Yohai (2nd Century)

o you Bar Yohai
you in oil
be happy
oil joy from
your friends
o you Bar Yohai
holy
oiling you with oil
you oiled
& measured holy
you hold up
a leaf from Holy Crown
held on your head
your beauty
o you Bar Yohai
your good home
you homed in
the day you ran
you roamed
Hole of the Rocks
you hid in
gave you glory
halos for your head
o you Bar Yohai
circle of whose trees surround
lore of Adonai
study
wondrous light
o hearthlight
glows for you
your teachers
teach you
o you Bar Yohai
o you flew
you in the applefield
you drew flowers
odors
o secrets of
the Torah
buds & branches
you for whom we speak
o you Bar Yohai
wore your power
in faith's war
fire
at its gates
pulled sword
from sheath
you drew against
your enemies
o you Bar Yohai
where the stones were
marble
you were there
before the lion
you who saw the bear's
crown jewel
(saw
but who saw you?)
o you Bar Yohai
in holiest of
holies
green line
months made months
the seven sabbaths
secrets of the fifty
linked the links of shin
your links
o you Bar Yohai
wisdom's ancient yod
you saw
into his glory
32-fold path
o onset of high offerings
a cherub enters
oiled & shining in
your light
o you Bar Yohai
wondrous light
o high above you
frightened
past all sight
& hidden
call it nothing
call it sleep
eyes cannot see
