1
(scenario)

high on a pillow sits with bandaged hands & feet her double sits beside her
dressed like her large lighted candles vessels with burning oil guard against
the demons on a table stands a basket filled with eggs & flour rue is fastened
to her headdress

2
(the song)

is mercy's hour now
o devils fade
o devils in the hills of China
diving in its sea
green rue adorns her head
o moon stretch out
your hands for baubles
for rejoicing younger days

stretch out your hands for
coloring
the custom of the girls
