ENGLISH FOLK LULLABY, by
First Line: Dance my baby diddy
Last Line: "and dance, my baby deary"

Dance my baby diddy,
What shall thy mother do with thee?
But sit in her lap
And give it some pap,
And dance a baby diddy.

Smile, my baby bonnie,
What shall time bring on thee?
Sorrow and care,
Frowns and gray hair,
So smile my baby bonnie.

Laugh, my baby beauty,
What will time do to thee?
Furrow your cheek,
Wrinkle your neck,
So laugh, my baby beauty.

Dance, my baby deary,
Thy mother will never be weary,
Frolic and play
Now while you may,
And dance, my baby deary.
