1 The rebbe went dancing & lost all he had When his hasidim found it he gave them a sign Then he took it all back 2 The rebbe was a good old boy when he drank a toast all his hasidim used to fight to catch the droppings 3 When the rebbe dances the walls dance with him the hasidim clap hands They clap hands when the rebbe dances 4 The rebbe sits & sweats & the shekinah hovers over him Then the hasidim sing & dance & jump They love the way the rebbe looks 5 days of messiah king the rebbe eldest wears his hair long like a hermit sweet bread buns grow on the trees with corn cob pipes for branches & tobacco leaves hasidim can light up on not in prayer huts made of clay brick but built with stews & noodle puddings whiskey fountains in the rebbe's kitchen Nebukhadnezzar come himself from Babylon into Yerushelayim crying to the rebbe life life all that they drink is life Used with the permission of Copper Canyon Press, P.O.
