WILLIAM the Conqueror, ten sixty-six,
Played on the Saxons oft-cruel tricks.

COLUMBUS sailed the ocean blue,
In fourteen hundred and ninety-two.

THE Spanish Armada met its fate,
In fifteen hundred and eighty-eight.

IN sixteen hundred and sixty-six,
London burnt like rotten sticks.
