ON HOMER, by
First Line: Still in our ears andromache complains
Last Line: For all the world is proud that he was born
Subject(s): Homer (10th Century B.c.);poetry & Poets; Iliad;odyssey

STILL in our ears Andromache complains,
And still in sight the fate of Troy remains;
Still Ajax fights, still Hector's dragged along, --
Such strange enchantment dwells in Homer's song;
Whose birth could more than one proud realm adorn,
For all the world is proud that he was born.
