SUCKING CIDER THROUGH A STRAW, by ANONYMOUS First Line: The prettiest girl / that I ever saw Last Line: Through a straw Subject(s): Cider;love;mothers-in-law | ||||||||
The prettiest girl That ever I saw, Was sucking cider Through a straw. I told that girl I didn't see how She sucked the cider Through a straw. And cheek by cheek And jaw by jaw We sucked that cider Through that straw. And all at once That straw did slip; I sucked some cider From her lip. And now I've got Me a mother-in-law From sucking cider Through a straw. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...TO MY MOTHER by EDGAR ALLAN POE OVER THE WAY by MARY ELIZABETH MAPES DODGE THE BROKEN HEART by JAMES HOGG THE WIDOW TO HER SON'S BETROTHED by CAROLINE ELIZABETH SARAH SHERIDAN NORTON HIS MOTHER-IN-LAW by WALTER PARKE NEW ENGLAND MOTHER-IN-LAW by FRANCES FUERST QUICK MOTHERS-IN-LAW by JOHN GODFREY SAXE FIRST MEETING WITH A POSSIBLE MOTHER-IN-LAW by THOMSON WILLIAM GUNN TIS A LITTLE JOURNEY by ANONYMOUS |
