SOWER, by GEORGE WILLIAM RUSSELL Poet's Biography First Line: After the sower with the seed Alternate Author Name(s): A. E. | |||
AFTER the Sower with the seed What mightier being strides behind, Who from a fiery hand strews out The elves of life upon the wind? And every one becomes a slave Labouring through earth from seed to sun, Till the green pillar's thick with grain And the long marvellous labour's done. Ah, when the food is made for man, The spirits that the scythe sets free: Do they exult and do they fly, Sower of Life, again to Thee. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...FROLIC by GEORGE WILLIAM RUSSELL IMMORTALITY by GEORGE WILLIAM RUSSELL RECONCILIATION by GEORGE WILLIAM RUSSELL SACRIFICE by GEORGE WILLIAM RUSSELL THE GIFT by GEORGE WILLIAM RUSSELL A CALL by GEORGE WILLIAM RUSSELL A FAREWELL by GEORGE WILLIAM RUSSELL A HOLY HILL by GEORGE WILLIAM RUSSELL A LAST COUNSEL by GEORGE WILLIAM RUSSELL A LEADER by GEORGE WILLIAM RUSSELL |
