BENEATH THE JUNIPER by ANNA BUNSTON DE BARY

First Line: AH LORD, IN VAIN DID I ASPIRE
Last Line: CLEFT FLOODS, AND CHARIOTS OF FIRE!
Subject(s): DEATH; DEAD, THE;

AH Lord, in vain did I aspire
To serve. Now to be dead
Is all I ask,
All my desire—
And lo, the angel's bread,
The crowning task
Cleft floods, and chariots of fire!
