FROSTY SHADOWS by PEARL POTTER ETZ

First Line: WHEN PEEPING O'ER THE EAST'S GRAY BRINK
Last Line: SPLASHED GREEN ON WINTER'S WHITE.
Subject(s): FROST; SUN; WINTER;

When peeping o'er the East's gray brink,
Old Sun once caught young Frost's gay wink,
He laughingly arose
And lumberingly chose
To chase the merry sprite;

And save where giggling Frost had slid
Between fat trees and safely hid,
O'er hill and dale
The sun's bright trail
Splashed green on Winter's white.
