SILENCE by LUCIUS MATLACK FALL

First Line: SILENCE IS MAGIC / I HEAR HER VOICE FROM
Last Line: THAT REIGNS SUPREME -- ALONE WITH GOD.
Subject(s): SOLITUDE; LONELINESS;

Silence is magic.
I hear her voice from nature in repose.
She calls me away from depression and from tumult.
I am charmed by the soft cadence of her voice
As I listen to her call and follow her beckoning.
She leads me along the chiming brook;
"Into green pastures, beside the still waters";
The playground of my childhood days;
To the waving forests, planted by nature's own hand;
The home of happy birds chirping in the branches;
To the shimmering desert among the Joshuas and Cacti,
In whose solitude you feel the silence
That reigns supreme -- alone with God.
