THOUGH THERE BE DARKNESS by JEANNE KERRIDGE FISCHER

First Line: THOUGH THERE BE DARKNESS, AND THE NIGHT BE STILL
Last Line: ALONG A ROAD THAT I SHALL WALK NO MORE.

Though there be darkness, and the night be still
Sound pulses endlessly within my mind --
Knowing the rush of wind upon a hill;
Hearing the pound of fury on a shore;
The whisper of slim poplars that are lined
Along a road that I shall walk no more.
