I HAD A DREAM by EDITH FOSTER

First Line: I HAD A LOVELY DREAM TODAY / I CLIMBED
Last Line: I PLAYED AGAIN WITH BABY KAY.
Subject(s): ANGELS;

I had a lovely dream today:
I climbed beyond the open sky --
I played again with baby Kay.

There were so many things to say
To all the angels swinging by --
I had a lovely dream today.

We ran across the happy way
As swiftly as a seagull's cry --
I played again with baby Kay.

My little one seemed strangely gay
And watched the others more than I --
I had a lovely dream today.

I saw no tears, no face was gray,
No cross was waiting, reaching high --
I played again with baby Kay.

All broken hopes were swept away;
I found where perfect moments lie.
I had a lovely dream today --
I played again with baby Kay.
