I love magnolias in the pale moonlight With Eden's jewels shining through their bowers, When fairies wave their starry wands so bright Amid the pearly fragrance of the flowers; I love magnolias in the soft moonlight Casting garlands over gardens fair, As sweethearts dream, and dream, of bridal white For candle settings, glimmering and rare. My soul they touch in quiet loveliness With beauty of a Southern maiden's face; With salty kisses from the sea's caress, With glamor, chivalry, and ebbing grace. For Carolinians famed they wreathe apart The haunted glory lying in her heart. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...BACKGROUND AND DESIGN by KAREN SWENSON ILKA BLADE O' GRASS KEPS ITS AIN DRAP O' DEW by JAMES BALLANTYNE THE ART OF PRESERVING HEALTH: BOOK 2.
