REMEMBERED MUSIC by JOSEPH FREEMAN

First Line: LYING UNDER A WEIRD BLUE SKY
Last Line: IN DULL TRAFALGAR SQUARE.
Subject(s): MUSIC & MUSICIANS; SINGING & SINGERS; UKRAINE; SONGS;

Lying under a weird blue sky,
Long ago in the Ukraine,
I heard the cossacks canter by
Across the twilit plain

Chanting the mournful songs of old
Through the strange hush of evening air
That now go beating through my head
In dull Trafalgar Square.
