LINES TO AN ARTIST by GERTRUDE FRENCH

First Line: EACH STROKE OF YOUR BRUSH, A TRUE STORY DOTH TELL
Last Line: ALL THE GLORY OF LIFE THAT ENHANCES.
Subject(s): ART & ARTISTS; PAINTINGS & PAINTERS;

Each stroke of your brush, a true story doth tell—
In streamlets that ripple or a sunshiny dell;
Like an old-fashioned hymn
Your soul is akin
To the beauty of life that entrances.
The dazzle of sunrise that precedes the morn
In crimson and splendor doth smoothly adorn;
In a vivid array
Lures your brush to portray
All the glory of life that enhances.
