Mind your own business
And go on your way,
Don't pay much attention
To what people say.

For they will condemn you
For singing a song,
For laughing out loud,
Or a face that is long.

If you save your money,
They say you are "tight."
Spend it quite freely,
It still isn't right.

Whatever you do,
Wherever you go,
There are many to say,
"It should not be so."

You are "damned" if you do,
You are "damned" if you don't,
So you get the same curse,
If you "do" or you "don't."
