AMBASSADRESS by ELMIRA GROGAN

First Line: ONE THAT HAS NOT HEARD A VOICE IN ANGER
Last Line: HALOES AROUND THE HEADS SHE TOUCHES.
Subject(s): DEATH; KELLER, HELEN (1880-1968); VOICES; DEAD, THE;

One that has not heard a voice in anger,
Nor feared the pallor of death,
Nor seen the loss of innocence,
Can hear a lark's wing-feather sing,
Can chant the pulse of cherubim,
And, with her enlightened fingers, feel
Haloes around the heads she touches.
