TREASURE SHARED by ETHELYN MILLER HARTWICH

First Line: THE TENDER WEALTH OF HAPPY MARRIED YEARS
Last Line: AND TRANQUIL SENSE OF SWEET PROPORTION LEARNED.
Subject(s): HAPPINESS; HEARTS; MARRIAGE; JOY; DELIGHT; WEDDINGS; HUSBANDS; WIVES;

The tender wealth of happy married years
In nothing is so well expressed for me
As in the understanding glance exchanged
By mates above a child's unconscious head,
When some alluring guile of babyhood
Takes measure of its power on parent hearts.
Then comes the voiceless joy of treasure shared
And tranquil sense of sweet proportion learned.
