SKATERS by MARY HEILING

First Line: SILVER FLASHES / ACROSS THE ICE IN RHYTHM SWINGING
Last Line: ACROSS THE ICE, RAISING SILVERED DUST AT TURN OF HEEL.
Subject(s): SKATING & SKATERS; SPORTS;

Silver flashes
Across the ice in rhythm swinging,
Silver flashes
Across the ice like tangents of a moon
That reach out to cup the laughter in the air
And leave a symphony in color there.
Silver flashes
Across the chiseled contour of the ice in ringing steel.
Silver flashes
Across the ice, raising silvered dust at turn of heel.
