THE MIRROR by IBN AL-SABUNI

First Line: THERE'S A GIFT OF ELEGANCE
Last Line: TRUER TO THE PLIGHTED VOW.

There's a gift of elegance
I have sent thee, this fine glass:
Let the moon of happy chance
On its high horizon pass.

Here thou canst precisely see
All thy face's loveliness,
And the sooner pardon me
The deep passion I profess.

And thou'lt find thy likeness there
Nearer to the touch than thou,
More benevolently fair,
Truer to the plighted vow.
