THE NUPTIALS by IBN SA'ID OF ALCALA LA REAL

First Line: WOULD YOU WITH US HAD SIPPED
Last Line: THE SWORDS WERE LIGHTNINGS BRIGHT.

Would you with us had sipped
The wedding-cup of war,
When o'er the warriors dripped
The sweet perfume of gore.

The sun supplied the flowers
And golden moons the night,
The arrows fell in showers,
The swords were lightnings bright.
