A CORNER OF MY HEART by PAUL JANS

First Line: MY PAGEANT'S PAGE OF PENT-UP POEMS
Last Line: TO TREAD ON HOLY GROUND.
Subject(s): HEARTS;

My pageant's page of pent-up poems
Now pass for your review --
And this is just another way
I give my heart to you!
For some were born in fond delight;
Not all in grief and pain:
Accept a portion of my heart
Where all false gods were slain.
And share with me in unison
Some blessing which has shown,
I, who withheld my heart, in fact
Bestow it as a loan.
But, still, a corner of my heart
There is, no one has found --
For all in trembling yet have feared
To tread on holy ground.
