AS THOUGH I HAD CALLED YOU by KATHARINE A. JENKINS

First Line: STILLNESS - / NO BREEZE STIRRING THE BLUE LARKSPUR
Last Line: TO ANSWER.
Subject(s): LOVE;

Stillness—
No breeze stirring the blue larkspur,
The cool dark waters of the pond
Where the cream water-lilies drift,
Dreams unmoving.
A moth, gray wings folded,
Swings at rest in the heart of a primrose.
Stillness—
In my soul,
As though I called you,
And you had come
Down the little crooked garden path
Of my heart
To answer.
