A LITTLE HOPE by ADELINE M. JENNEY

First Line: YOUR CARE IS NOT ALONE FOR ROSES, GOD
Last Line: SO I, TOO, DARE TO LIFT A HOPE TO YOU.
Subject(s): HOPE; OPTIMISM;

Your care is not alone for roses, God;
Your touch is on the gulch fern and the rue
And lichens questing through the unsunned wood;
No kindling lark's trill is more sweet and true
Than insects shrilling through a warm, dark night
A-flutter with a myriad, mating moths;
June's fecund joy and winter's waiting light
Serve you alike and both alike are good;
So I, too, dare to lift a hope to you.
