THE BUTTERFLY by BURGES JOHNSON

First Line: IT'S JUST A MONSTROUS ANT WITH PAPER WINGS
Last Line: AND HAVEN'T SEEN IT MAKE A BIT OF BUTTER.
Subject(s): BUTTERFLIES; CHILDREN; INSECTS; CHILDHOOD; BUGS;

It's just a monstrous ant with paper wings.
I think I won't disturb it where it stands!
It never buzzes and it never sings.—
I wonder which is feet and which is hands?

I don't see what it's good for, anyway.
It never does a thing but stand and flutter;
I've followed it around for half the day
And haven't seen it make a bit of butter.
