THE RIDER by BURGES JOHNSON

First Line: WE'VE RODE A THOUSAND MILES OR MORE
Last Line: I DON'T GET VERY FAR AWAY.
Subject(s): CHILDREN; PLAY; CHILDHOOD;

We've rode a thousand miles or more,
My horse and I, across the floor.
And when I've gone another mile
I'll maybe let him rest awhile.

My mother thinks this horse by far
The best of all the steeds there are;
For though I gallop all the day
I don't get @3very@1 far away.
