MEMORY by LOUISE A. JOHNSON

First Line: AH! MEMORY CAN HAUNT
Last Line: TO CURSE US OR TO BLESS.
Subject(s): DESOLATION; MEMORY;

Ah! Memory can haunt
The soul with dark despair,
Or banish present pain
With recollections fair.

Two-sided is its role.
As on through life we press,
It follows in our trail
To curse us or to bless.
