PRITHEE, STRIVE NOT by HARRY HIBBARD KEMP

Last Line: THAT THE HEART WENT MAD ABOUT.
Subject(s): LOVE; MEMORY;

PRITHEE, strive not to remember
Ancient love burnt out and dead;
Blow not on the blackened ember,—
Ash will ne'er again give red.

Lift the latch—another lover
Waits upon thy kiss without:
All the old things have gone over
That the heart went mad about.
