OLD MAN'S SONG by ALEXEY (ALEXIE) VASSILIEVICH KOLTSOV

First Line: I SHALL SADDLE MY HORSE
Last Line: *

I SHALL saddle my horse,
And on my fast horse
I shall gallop and fly,
Than a hawk more light,
Across fields, over sea,
To lands far away.
I shall summon and find
My lost youth again.
I'll be strong, I'll be great
In the youth once mine.
And again I shall please
Lovely young maidens.
But alas! is no road
To what's past recall.
Never, never shall rise
The sun out of the west!
