May these Dresden figures bright and gay Bring happy thoughts on Christmas day. These little figures quaint and dear I know you'll like, I have no fear. The gallant man with coat of gray Came from Dresden, far away His little trousers of russet red Would turn 'most any woman's head. His charming lady with frills of lace Will adorn, I know, your mantle place. I hope these figures far from home Will not feel lonesome and alone But may well like their adopted land As on your mantle place they stand. To me, they are an ideal pair Who I hope will be happy anywhere. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...PARASITICS: TO CERTAIN POETS by CONRAD AIKEN SPECIAL EFFECTS by JAMES GALVIN READING WHITMAN IN A TOILET STALL by TIMOTHY LIU SPOON RIVER ANTHOLOGY: J.
