REMEMBER ME by MARY FRANCES MARTIN

First Line: THE THIEF DRAWN NIGH TO DEATH
Last Line: REMEMBER ME!
Subject(s): PRAYER;

The thief drawn nigh to death,
Besought with failing breath—
"Remember me!"

With pain and anguish rent,
Regretting a life mis-spent,
His prayer for mercy went—
"Remember me!"

Not vainly did he plead,
Thou gavest instant heed
To mercy's plea.
Lord in mine hour of need—
Remember me!
