AFTERGLOW by MAY PLOWMAN MCCONACHIE

First Line: WHILE TWILIGHT'S AFTERGLOW STILL FAINTLY BEAMS
Last Line: FAR RINGING SONGS CALL WANDERING ONES TO REST.

While twilight's afterglow still faintly beams
Above dim shores and on the waves that sleep,
An idling fisherman stirs from his dreams
To row towards home, for shadows will be deep;
Then sweetly from the reeds where redwings nest,
Far ringing songs call wandering ones to rest.
