A LOVER by MARTA S. MCCRACKEN

First Line: I AM IN LOVE WITH SO MANY THINGS
Last Line: I HAVE SCARCELY TIME FOR GROWING OLD.
Subject(s): LOVE;

I am in love with so many things:
A cricket that chirps, a bird that sings;

A tree that is green in a garden small,
A creeping grass, the iris tall;

A baby's dimples, your eyes of blue,
A rainy day and the morning dew;

A country road, a tiny brook,
The star Altair and a "poetry book."

So much to love, to have, to hold,
I have scarcely time for growing old.
