A MORNING PRAYER by CLYDE MCGEE

First Line: FOR BURDEN THAT IS MINE TO BEAR
Last Line: THIS DAY, O LORD, AMEN.
Subject(s): GOD; PRAYER; RELIGION; THEOLOGY;

For burden that is mine to bear,
For heavy load that I can share,
For duty hard that must be done,
For victory yet to be won,
For the trifle that annoys,
For the worry that destroys,
For defeat that leaves its sting,
For the dark and bitter thing,
Give me strength, O Lord, and will!
Give me patience, grace and skill,
Give me tact and sympathy,
That I God's gentleman may be,
This day, O Lord, Amen.
