A PRAYER by CLYDE MCGEE

First Line: O GOD, WHO MADE US FOR THYSELF
Last Line: IN EARNEST EXPECTATION AND COURAGEOUS QUEST.
Subject(s): FAITH; PRAYER; BELIEF; CREED;

O God, Who made us for Thyself,
Keep us unafraid;
Unafraid of life,
Unafraid of death,
Unafraid of the darkness or the silences;
Unafraid of more light,
Unafraid of more truth,
Unafraid of experiment and adventure.
Rekindle in all hearts
The spirit of divine desire;
Strengthen all hands
Reached out to find Thee;
Make all men comrades
In earnest expectation and courageous quest.
