HISTORY by CLYDE MCGEE

First Line: TWO MEN UNTO THE TEMPLE WENT
Last Line: AND WENT HOME JUSTIFIED.
Subject(s): HISTORY; RELIGION; HISTORIANS; THEOLOGY;

Two men unto the temple went,
Two men went up to pray;
Two men within the temple prayed
And two men came away;

The one, a Pharisee devout,
Filled with religious pride,
Spoke highly of himself to God,
And went home satisfied;

The other came with burdened heart,
A Publican, who cried
For mercy on a sinful man,
And went home justified.
