IN THE OLD STONE AGE: A DREADED VISITOR by JACK MELONE

First Line: AT TIMES, RETURNING FROM THE CHASE
Last Line: TO STRETCH CONTENT UPON THE FLOOR!
Subject(s): ANIMALS; CATS; HUNGER; HUNTING; TIGERS; HUNTERS;

At times, returning from the chase,
(A flint spear was his weapon then)
This sinuous beast with awful face,
Awaited him within his den.
Well-sated with its tasty food,
A plump and tender boy of four,
The giant cat was in a mood
To stretch content upon the floor!
