IN THE OLD STONE AGE: A WORLD OF FEAR by JACK MELONE

First Line: PRIMORDIAL MAN MOST SORELY FEARED
Last Line: DESTROYED HIS CHILDREN WITHOUT RUTH!
Subject(s): FEAR;

Primordial man most sorely feared
The tangled wood and dark morass;
From out their depths strange beings leered—
Death lurked in bramble, bush and grass.
Half-clad and puny, scant defense
Had he against the saber-tooth
Which, with its claws and fangs immense,
Destroyed his children without ruth!
