IN THE OLD STONE AGE: SPREADING THE ALARM by JACK MELONE

First Line: DISTRACTED, HE WOULD FLEE TO SPREAD
Last Line: AMONG THE TRIBES OF VALE AND HILL!
Subject(s): DEATH; MURDER; WILDERNESS; DEAD, THE;

Distracted, he would flee to spread
The fearsome tale of how he came
To find his wife and children dead,
Slain by a beast with eyes of flame.
His kith and kin would seize their spears,
Determined that dread beast to kill,
Which caused such bitter groans and tears
Among the tribes of vale and hill!
