A VISIT by JACK MERTEN

First Line: AS SHE STIRRED HER COFFEE AT DINNER IN OUR HOUSE
Last Line: WHEREUPON I WENT OUT IN THE GARDEN AND THREW STONES AT THE HENS.
Subject(s): AUNTS; FAMILY LIFE; GUESTS; RELATIVES; VISITING;

AS she stirred her coffee at dinner in our house,
Aunt Miranda remarked that it wasn't strong enough
but she would take a third cup anyway;
Also the cake had too much vanilla
but she would take a third piece;
Whereupon I went out in the garden and threw stones at the hens.
