OCTOBER by SILAS WEIR MITCHELL

First Line: STAY, GENTLE SUNSHINE, STAY
Last Line: SHALL PAY YOU WITH A KISS.
Subject(s): OCTOBER; SUN; WIND;

STAY, gentle sunshine, stay;
Sweet west wind, bide awhile;
Nay, linger, and my maid
Shall bribe you with a smile.

Sweet sun and west wind, stay,
You know not what you miss;
Nay, linger, and my maid
Shall pay you with a kiss.
