THE SECRET (1) by JOHN RICHARD MORELAND

First Line: ON THAT FIRST DAY SO SINGULAR
Last Line: "YOU'LL KNOW!"
Subject(s): SPRING;

On that first day so singular
Under the ground,
It was too dark for crescent or for star,
Too deep for sound.

And lying there one thought alone
I could not still:
How soon would snow-white cherry buds be blown
Across the hill.

And then a voice within the tomb
Said very low:
@3"When April lights her first sharp flame of bloom
You'll know!"@1
